Boot Up: AC Milan Makes Arsenal Tuck In Their Chain

Thursday, February 16, 2012

It was a day that Arsenal fans will have to drink an extra few pints to forget. In an embarrassing end to an up-and-down season, Arsenal fell hard 4-0, to AC Milan yesterday in the Champions League round of 16. Looking defeated after the first goal, Arsenal continued their downward spiral; calling into question their fragile team mental state and lack of resolve. Not even their old hero, Thierry Henry, could save the day when he stepped onto the pitch in the second half. It was Henry’s last game in an Arsenal jersey as he will head back to NY to join the MLS’s Red Bulls.

The Italian side played with a cool confidence in the match, controlling the ball on the defensive end, launching precise counter attacks that left the Gunners looking like a B league squad. While Arsenal regroups in the off season and tries to get their collective mind right, their fans may want to switch to something stronger to take away the bitter taste of an ass whippin.’
