TITG: Penn State Hires Who?

Remember the Patriots offensive coordinator that caught heat in the press for arguing with Tom Brady? Well he just got a new gig, taking the rains of the toxic, but still high power; Penn State football program. His name is Bill O’Brien, and he’s the latest in a long line of Bill Belichick related coordinators to get a job.
Still have no idea who the f&ck this guy is? Apparently the players, ex players and high power boosters at Penn State have no idea either. Because most of them responded to news of the hire with a resounding “who?,” which was quickly followed by a “why?” Coach O’Brien has no relation to the Penn State program (which may be a good thing), and zero head coaching experience in college or the pro’s. Before he got to New England (2007), he spent 14 years in the college ranks with stops at Duke, Maryland, and Georgia Tech. Now he’s heading into the proverbial lion’s den, as the first new head football coach in State College in half a century. We hope he’s up for the challenge, but do you think he is? He’s not walking into a situation like Urban Meyer, or Lane Kiffin did with USC a few years ago. Penn State’s suffering from a severe P.R. crisis, and the only thing that’s likely to heal it is time, a lot of it.
