Two words, “Brent Musberger,” no but really outside of the joy that is Musberger ranting about the honey badger last night was all about defense. Much like the first match up, touchdowns were hard to come by up until late in the fourth quarter when Trent Richardson broke the plane. In fact 15 of Bama’s points came off of the boot of kicker Jeremy Shelley, who hit field goals 44, 34, 41, 35 and 23. He also missed from 41 yards, shanked an extra point, and had a 42 yard attempt blocked. Sophomore QB A.J. McCarron was surprisingly efficient in the face of the Tigers equally tough defense, managing the game but also making plays on a night he put 234yds hitting 23-34 passes. But back to what’s made the game……

Flat out, Alabama’s straight punked LSU in the truest sense of the word, think Debo snatching Red’s chain on Craig’s porch. Bama recorded the first shut out in a BCS national championship game, and held the Tigers to 92 yards total offense. Guys like Courtney Upshaw, and Dont’a Hightower went buck, hemming up LSU’s Jordan Jefferson by sacking him 4 times. The Tigers had 5 first downs all night, and the team as a whole looked ready to hang it up by the middle of the 4th quarter. It really was that bad of an ass kicking, on Trent Richardson’s late game touchdown run a couple of LSU players just simply stopped as number 3 scooted towards the end zone. It was a beat down in the truest sense of the word, and it marks a record 10th national championship for Bama’s football program.

Alabama 21 – LSU 0

Arkansas coach, Bobby Petrino, couldn’t believe that LSU’s Les Miles wouldn’t pull his foot off the gas late in the 4th quarter of yesterday’s LSU/Arkansas game. LSU was already beating the breaks off of a #3 Arkansas team, when Les continued to a push for the endzone. Petrino obviously took it as a sign of disrespect, pointing at Miles from the other side of the field after the Tigers scored. He also took the traditional midfield handshake between coaches after the game to voice his displeasure. Check out video of the extreme saltiness above and below

LSU: The Bayou Bengals are one of the few teams in college football that wear away-whites for home games. So when Nike wanted to get busy on a Pro-Combat look for the Tigers we’re almost positive the tradition laden folks in Baton Rouge told them to keep it close to the original.

Iowa State: We’re a big fan of these almost Trojan-like home uni’s the Cyclones started rocking a few years ago. At least they looked clean in their loss to A&M

Notre Dame: Not a real change up in cloth, but the helmets got a golden make over. We mean real gold also, these Irish look they’re riding around with a set of triple gold Dayton’s on their dome. We likes

Northwestern: We dig purple over here at Already, but we’re not so sure about this look the Wildcats rocked in Saturday’s loss to Penn State. The cat scratch, claw marks on the shoulders have something to do with that.

Oregon: Oregon’s most mellow look come’s in the form of their away-whites. The constant uni change has to be hella confusing for the players and fans.

Our weekly rundown of college football props, coupled with much disrespect after the link.

The Really-Real:

LSU – Easily the most impressive team we’ve seen this season, defense is crazy on point and 2 good QB’s combine to make one. Tennessee never had a chance, and the Tigers left Knoxville with a 38 – 7 victory in tow

Alabama – Bama put a country road ass whipping’ on their fratty cousins from Oxford, 58 – 7 with Trent Richardson leading the way.

Wisconsin – We have to give it up to the Badgers, they refrained from putting up 80 points again on the Hoosiers. 59 points worked just fine for the team that doesn’t seem to have an equal in the Big 10 (+2)

Michigan State – The Spartans officially run the state of Michigan, their 28 – 14 victory over over Michigan Saturday made 4 in a row. Meanwhile, they also gave other teams a blueprint on how to stop Denard Robinson.

Oregon – No LaMichael James or Darron Thomas? No problem, insert a great back up tailback and unheard of QB to keep it pushing over the Sun Devils 41 – 27.

Virginia – This was our fail call of the weekend, we just knew the Cavaliers had no shot at beating Georgia Tech. Damn were we wrong, Virginia gave tech a taste of their own medicine piling up 272 rushing yards on the way to a 24 – 21 victory.

Kansas State – Wildcat coach Bill Snyder is old enough to be your grand mother’s , baby father, from her first marriage. His old ass can still coach circles around all of the high dollar newcomers.

Not A Good Look:

Kansas – Don’t worry, midnight madness was last week so this will all be over soon.

Texas – One plus came from Saturdays loss, you have a damn good freshman running back. The negatives are that you may lose to Baylor again

Michigan – They started the trend of undefeated teams from Michigan losing, that carried into unsay with the Lions.

Georgia Tech – The ACC proving nobody’s above a loss from team they should probably beat handily

Illinois – Even with mad cats on probation, the Buckeyes can still beat the best that Illinois has to offer. It’s damn shame

Baylor – Having a defense that couldn’t bust a grape in fruit fight will eventually comeback to bite you in the ass. It bit the Bears in College Station hard

Wake Forest – Still 3 – 1 in conference after jumping out to an early lead. Just remember Deacons, there’s alway the Independence Bowl!

Florida – only managed to put up 6 points, just sad man………..sad for real

Fall Back:

South Carolina – The Gamecocks are likely headed to another championship game, just to get the breaks beat off of them again by whoever wins the west.

Wack-ness:

Texas and Texas A&M – Moistness on all fronts from these two programs. Ending a rivalry on one end, because the Longhorns are afraid they won’t have their whipping boy anymore (in public perception only). And the Ags think their gonna walk into the SEC and have meaningful rivalries with teams that don’t give a damn about them. Weak shit, times 5

TITG:

Trent Richardson (Alabama) – Trent Richardson carried his team to victory over the Rebel Black Bears, and made a couple of cats look foolish on the way. Check the highlight vid above

Ryan Tannehill (Texas A&M) – Putting up 6td’s through the air is certified big things, even if it’s against a terrible defense. Tannehill and the Ags kept themselves from dropping another game. His numbers ran something like 25-37-415yds, with the 6 touches.

Oregon offensive backups – Kenjon Barner is already a certified G, but who the hell is this Bryan Bennet kid that came in running the option like a smoother version of Scott Frost.

Russell Wilson (Wisconsin) – Russell Wilson continues to lead the pack for ALready’s imaginary Heisman vote. Not only did dude thewo a touchdown on Saturday, he caught one also. Sportin’ Waves connect-gang

Ryan Broyles (Oklahoma) – 217 yards on 13 catches put Broyles in a category all by himself, he’s the NCAA’s career leader in receptions. His 217 yards is also and Oklahoma record, and he had 2tds on top of that.

Ryan Swope (Texas A&M) – Ryan Swope has a different type of speed, and he showed the Bears all day Saturday with 206yds receiving and 4tds.

Back with another breakdown of what’s really good this weekend in college football. Check it out after the link

(1) LSU @ Tennessee – Let’s keep it kinda real here, Tennessee blew it last year by having to many players on the field. They’ll get no such chance to keep it that close this year (especially with Bray out). Tigers win big in this one

(2) Alabama @ Ole Miss – Alabama and Ole Miss, not hard to tell who’s Ike and who the Tina of this relationship are.

(3) Oklahoma @ Kansas - Please pray for Kansas, the Sooners don’t give a damn that their cross state rival put up 70 on the Jayhawks last weekend. OU will show no mercy as KU falls back towards its perennial status as a basketball school.

Indiana @ (4) Wisconsin – Actually, this could be the biggest beat down of the weekend right here. You know Wisconsin doesn’t believe in taking their foot off of the gas until the clock hits 0:00 (and you may get a leftover brat thrown at your loser ass after that). Badgers by 30

(5) Boise State @ Colorado St. – Is this “Punks Jump Up To Get Beat Down” weekend? This will be another game where the hammer gets dropped, repeatedly. Kellen Moore will put on a clinic as the Broncs run up the score in the Rams.

(6) Oklahoma State @ (22) Texas – Pokes get their first win over the Horns in the modern era this weekend. Think about how confused the Texas defense looked in the Red River Rivalry, it could be even worse this weekend against what could be the most powerful offense in FBS.

(7) Stanford @ Washington State – Andrew Luck and crew will still be undefeated after this weekend. We know the Cougars are improving and all, but this Stanford squad still has an outside chance at a spot in the BCS championship game.

(8) Clemson @ Maryland - Tahj Boyd is back under center and freshman WR Sammy Watkins is unstoppable. Maryland will take another lump via a visiting, and undefeated Clemson squad.

(18) Arizona State @ (9) Oregon - Will the absence of LaMichael James slow down the super potent Ducks offense? Maybe a little, but we still don’t know if it will be enough for Sun Devils to win this race. It will be closer than everyone suspects though. Ducks by 7

(11) Michigan @ (23) Michigan State - Rivalry games are tricky, record and ranking say that the Wolverines should walk away with this. But we know that’s not the case, Sparty will be draped in their freshest Nike Pro-Combat uni’s and ready to ride on the blue & maize. Denard Robinson will have to stay on his wizardry late in the game to pull this one out.

(12) Georgia Tech @ Virginia – Georgia Tech still hasn’t played anyone with a clue on how to stop their quadruple/triple option offense. Despite the collective IQ of Virginia’s squad, they won’t figure it out either.

(15) South Carolina @ Mississippi State – The Bulldogs were one of our surprise teams for 2011, but now they’re 0-3 against SEC competition. This would be a good weekend to get a win, being that South Carolina has had their issues also. But’s it’s still highly unlikely

Ohio State @ (16) Illinois – Buckeyes are still too “on punishment” to beat anyone with a solid team. The Illini win this one

(17) Kansas State @ Texas Tech – The Wildcats aren’t the most talented team, but they don’t make many mistakes and that’s why they have yet to lose. They’ll get a tough, hard earned win in Lubbock on Saturday.

(19) Virginia Tech @ Wake Forest – Sticking with the Deamon Deacons, because the Hokies aren’t invincible.

(20) Baylor @ (21) Texas A&M – The Aggies would be all kinds of butt-hurt if Baylor handed them an L for a going away present as they head to the SEC. This is our can’t call it game, all we know is that it will be a high scoring affair between two teams with great offenses and horrible defenses.

Florida @ (24) Auburn - Auburn wins a close one, although we are anxious to see how Florida’s true frosh QB performs with a little more room to breath.

All kinds of college football knowledge from this past weekend awaits after the link, dropped specifically for your viewing pleasure.

The Really Real:

Oklahoma State – High Rollers like Ice-T in this piece, the Cowboys simply can’t be stopped. This weekend they rolled up 70 points on Kansas, as if the Jayhawks needed more of a reason to wish for a start to basketball season.

LSU – Florida’s true freshman QB gave a valiant effort, but the Tigers just laughed it off and kept firing. Posting a 41 – 11 win over a team that was running ish just a few short years ago.

Oklahoma – Doing all they can to remain the Big 12′s top ranked team, applied a 55 – 17 loss to the Longhorns results section on Saturday.

Boise State – Went down to Fresno and left with a 57 – 7 victory in hand, expect Boise to cruise through the Mountain West and onto a BCS bowl.

Oregon – The Ducks are still waxing Pac 12 foes, and displaying new offensive talents. LaMichael James took a hit, but the Ducks have a few solid replacements that should hold until he gets back.

Arkansas – So much offense, the Razorbacks turned Auburn’s defense inside out with a 38 – 14 win. Look for them to upset somebody before the season is over (take cover LSU).

Nebraska – We don’t know how the hell they pulled it off (neither does Ohio State) but the Huskers engineered the biggest comeback in school history at home against the Buckeyes. A good way to get back after catching an ass whippin’ via Wisconsin last week.

Alabama – Looks like the offense is coming together to connect like Voltron with that lethal Tide defense. Assuming they both stay undefeated, the LSU/Bama game is gonna be nasty

Clemson – Still undefeated but took a hit with the injury to QB Tahj Boyd. They should still be able to handle Maryland next weekend though.

Not A good Look:

Kansas – We don’t know what’s going on in Lawrence these days, but it is certainly not football.

Kentucky – The Wildcats have quietly become everybody on the planet’s “get back” game. Lose a heart breaker one week, no worry you’ve got Kentucky on the schedule next week to take out all of your anger on. South Carolina wrecked them 56 – 3 last Saturday, who’s next

Texas – Just remember that it doesn’t matter if you get stomped out by your biggest rival for all the world to see, because you’re Texas.

Ohio State – Was pretty positive that the Buckeyes were gonna pull off the upset over the Huskers as of halftime Saturday. Damn were we wrong

Utah – The move to the PAC-12 is proving costly for the Utes who can’t seem to take the week in, week out grind. Posted another conference loss this weekend to Arizona State, leaving them 0-3 in their division.

Florida State – How can the Seminoles get back to prominence if they keep losing every weekend. They’ve got to at least make a bowl game for Tallahassee to continue its love affair with Jimbo Fisher and Co.

Arizona – Damn, 1 – 5, and the only team in the country with a loss to Oregon State. Tuscon needs help

Fall Back:

Texas Fans – You lost to a better team, calling for the head of a coach that made you relevant again = beyond weak.

Wack-ness:

Texas Tech fans throw a full drink at an opposing fan. Just how they do it in Lubbock

Texas Tech Fans – Please check out the crazy degenerate actions a few Tech fans pulled in our Mad Suspect section, here

Landry Jones (Oklahoma) – Oklahoma’s QB continues to show leadership, and extraordinary passing skills. Torching the Longhorns for 367yds and 3tds through the air.

Denard Robinson (Michigan) – Dude is gold once he gets his first few f&ck ups out of the way. Led the Wolverines to a win over Northwestern, scoring two touchdowns on the ground and tossing two through the air also.

DeAnthony Thomas (Oregon) – See our “People You Should Know” feature on De’Anthony here

Oklahoma’s Defense – Made the Longhorn’s offense look like a Canadian middle school squad. Held the Texas rushing attack to 36yds on 45 attempts, little brother style.

Geno Smith (West Virginia) – What you know about the Mountaineers air attack, Geno Smith put up 450yds passing and 4tds against a busted UConn defense.

LaMichael James (Oregon) – Always finds the hole (pause) and manages to outrun everybody on the field. Pushed Cal’s wig back in a Thursday night game last week, with 239yds rushing (and averaged 8yds a carry while doing so)

Rashard Matthews (Nevada) – The latest receiver to enter the 200yds+ club, Matthews put on an aerial show against in state rival UNLV this weekend. Numbers went something like10 catches for 220yds and 1 touchdown.

With ranked teams Oregon and Boise St. already beating the breaks off of opponents this week, we still felt it proper to put you up on everything coming in College Football for this Saturday (October 8th). Peep game below

(17) Florida @ (1) LSU - Florida is lacking QB John Brantley after Alabama came through Gainesville on smash last weekend, leaving a true freshman to start in his place. Talk about throwing a kid to the Lions (or, Tigers), LSU’s gonna make a show out of this one

Vanderbilt @ (2) Alabama - Vandy’s defense is actually solid this year, but Bama’s finding their groove right before they get into the triple OG part of SEC conference play. Tide wins big

(3) Oklahoma vs (11) Texas - Before Texas made the QB change, we would’ve picked the Sooners to win this game by at least 2 touchdowns. We’re still taking this Sooners squad full of upper clansmen, but it’ll be a little closer now with McCoy/Ash at QB for the Longhorns.

Kansas @ (6) Oklahoma State - The Cowboys have one of the more prolific offenses in the country, expect them to put on a clinic for the visiting Jayhawks.

Colorado @ (7) Stanford - Life isn’t any better for the Buffs in the new Pac 12, they’ll be 1 – 5 when they leave Palo Alto this weekend (having nightmares of Andrew Luck for the rest of the season)

Boston College @ (8) Clemson - A young inexperienced squad like Clemson could easily slip up by taking a day off against a lowly conference foe like Boston College. But we think Dabo has the Tigers ready this year, they’re going to pita-roll the Eagles.

(15) Auburn @ (10) Arkansas - Arkansas wins a high scoring affair against Auburn, because the Tigers have a suspect defense, and seem like they’re still a year away from SEC title contention

(12) Michigan @ Northwestern - The Wolverines are in a familiar position at 5 – 0 for the second year in a row, and Denard Robinson will keep them undefeated for another week.

Maryland @ (13) Georgia Tech - Once again Maryland switches up their uni, but they still get the same result…………. another loss

Ohio State @ (14) Nebraska - Mad Buckeyes on punishment, and that’s the real reason Nebraska will win this game. Either way, expect Nebraska coach Bo Pelini to blow up on his players a few times each half.

Connecticut @ (16) West Virginia - No need to burn couches tomorrow when the Mountaineers beat a UConn team that can’t find it’s swag for this year.

Kentucky @ (18) South Carolina - Kentucky would wreck the Gamecocks if this was basketball, unfortunately it’s not. South Carolina with consecutive elbow drops from the top rope in this game, and the Wildcats take another loss back to Lexington with them.

(19) Illinois @ Indiana - Hoosier fans need to take shelter because the Illini are coming through Bloomington to bomb on them, just like everybody else they’ve played.

Miami @ (21) Virginia Tech - Too many questions on both squads, so we’ll roll with the Hokies because they’re playing at home. You never know which Miami squad is gonna show up.

(22) Arizona State @ Utah - Can’t really call it with the Utes this year, however the Sun Devils are playing good ball. ASU takes this one in Salt Lake

(23) Florida State @ Wake Forest - Florida State hasn’t been the same since Oklahoma came through and crushed all of the buildings (word to Kurupt). Wake Forest get’s them at home, so we’re going out on a limb and riding with the Demon Deacons on this.

(24) Texas A&M @ Texas Tech - If the Aggies lose their season is done, we do have them winning this one though. Texas Tech is undefeated and all that, but they haven’t exactly played anyone worth a damn.

Iowa State @ (25) Baylor - Baylor’s defense is as bad as the Bears QB RGIII is good. The Cyclones will pull off a close one in Waco
