Mad Suspect Moments: A Headline Built For Failure

Sunday, February 19, 2012

After a week full of massive fails, ESPN may have put themselves clearly at the top with a most suspect headline surrounding the Jeremy Lin phenomenon. After Jeremy Lin’s 9 turnover outing led to a Knicks loss, some random, soon to be jobless editor exercised a lack of judgement that would make Lawrence Taylor look at them crazy. And splashed on the front page of ESPN was Lin, struggling with a turnover and the headline that followed the pic was “A Chink In The Armor.”

You have to wonder if whoever chose to run with this headline spent the day trolling the comments over on FoxNews.com, or maybe they’re angling for a job with Drudge. ESPN issued a prompt apology, taking down the headline about 35 minutes after it went up.
