Mad Suspect Moments: Craig James Tells Us Some Ish We Already Knew, & St. Elmo’s Fire Rmx Gives Pause

Friday, January 13, 2012

Ex-ESPN analyst turned political dreamer, Craig James, highlight’s “Mad Suspect’s” top billing for the second time in as many months. James, who’s always denied taking benefits while as a member of SMU’s early 80′s teams, finally fessed up. But even in telling the truth, he’s still bullsh&tting about the fact that he may have contributed to SMU’s legendary death penalty sanctions. James recently admitted that he took “insignificant” gifts from boosters, like borrowing a blazer to attend mixers. Actually when asked if he took money at recent fundraiser, James replied:

“It was an insignificant amount that I had when I was at SMU. It was wrong. And I was 18, 19 years old.”

Followed by:

“It was insignificant. It was never,”

“I said in my book that if someone came up and shook my hand and there were a $20 bill in it, I didn’t have the maturity at that time to turn it away.”

So while guys like Eric Dickerson were excepting free 280z’s and cases of Jehri Curl juice, Craig James was the guy that would just take a few bucks to get a pizza. Right…………
