There are several hints that the Midwest has not crumbled completely into the smoldering ashes of a decimated Automobile Industry. While some might hope to write off Detrioit and Michigan as a relic state from the past with little value in the modern economy, the blue collar descendent’s of America’s auto workers have a “never say die” attitude that gives the state and the region new, exciting life.

One thing that will surely never die in the Midwest is Football.  Nothing warms the heart of a cold weather lurker, a bearded artist with paint splashed jeans or an old school riding cat from the D, quite like Saturday afternoon football.

While as Mr. West says, parts of the Midwest are “young and restless,” in places like Ann Arbor, Michigan on any given Saturday in the Fall, it is as old school and traditional as anything in college football. Stepping into Michigan Stadium before a big game with a crowd of 115,000 screaming fans the feeling of collegiate football holiness is undeniable(take that Notre Dame). So when you go see the Wolverines take on Wisconson on November 20th  soak up some tradition and give props to the traditional homeland of college football with some Midwest style(albeit with Detroit leanings).
