HARD IN THE PAINT: FREE AGENCY EQUALS UNCONFIRMED WACK A$S RUMORS ALL DAY

.

If you didn’t get enough of anonymous sources via the Big 12/Pac 10/Big 10 realignment fiasco, NBA free agency rumors will surely have you ready to lick shots at your TV. ESPN.com reported this morning that D. Wade, Lebron James, and Chris Bosh had a “free agent summit”

A modified version of the ballyhooed free-agent summit that was initially suggested and then downplayed by Dwyane Wade has indeed taken place, ESPN.com has learned.

Sources close to the situation said Monday night that three of the biggest names in basketball — Wade, Chris Bosh and LeBron James — met over the weekend in Miami to seriously discuss their futures, with a focus on the increasingly plausible possibility of those three teaming up with Wade’s Heat.

Now the AP, Miami Herald, and D.Wade himself are saying that report is untrue.

The Herald says that Wade was in Chicago all weekend, while the AP has a good source telling them that James was not part of a mini-summit. This highlights the ridiculous nature of this week’s rumors: Everyone has an anonymous source, each of which is talking out of both sides of their mouth. Agents are only spewing information that is beneficial to their clients. We still think that all three superstars ending up in Miami remains a possibility, but the landing spots for Bosh and James remain completely up in the air. via NBC

Guarantee this situation gets dumb wack before it’s all said and done, Nets, Knicks, Bulls, Heat, Cavs, University of Kentucky, and the Clippers will all be frotn runners for every free agent for at least 30 min a day before ink hits a contract.
